Had a really lovely meal here. Great prices, great service & very friendly staff. Lovely atmosphere. Wait time from ordering to service was about half a hour, it was relatively busy so not too bad. There were 6 of us, food was delivered together and was well worth the wait. Public car park right next to the venue reasonable prices for parking. Located in Town centre. We usually go to the horse & jockey for family meals when I’m over on holiday but I think this is our new place to go too in the future

On Sunday the 16.12.23 I went to The Granary, this was my first and will be my last experience with it for food. On the face of it, it's a nice bar and restaurant. Well decorated and the layout is nice, nice private areas to sit.
When we arrived it was moderate to busy, it's a Sunday in Thurles, so not mental. We waited a few minutes for a table and that's where the issues started. The lady that showed us the seat could not of been more disinterested in us and put us in a corner. We arrived around 2:10pm, after seating the same lady gave us some menus and said I will get you some water. There were only two glasses on the table when we sat down. She arrived back to the table after a few minutes and gave us a jug of water and knife and fork. She proceeded to take our order in what was great detail. I ordered a Pint of Guinness, starter and a main and my wife ordered a glass of coke starter and main.
After 15mins the drinks arrived to the table. A different girl delivered them. I have attached a picture of the pint of Guinness received, I want to point out that I do not believe the barman poured this as he wouldn't serve Guinness in this state. As you can see not really up to a standard but I will leave that up to your judgement. It was however very much evident because the table beside us made a comment about the head of it or lack off. I will point out I didn't complain, as it was served to me and was obviously seen, clearly evidence something was amiss.
Anyway, the starter arrived and I will say it was very nice however at €9.99 each, expensive for what you get. We had to wait a good 20mins for the table to be cleared despite the staff, One guy with a head of hair that Sheamie from The Late Late Toy Show would be proud of, walking around clearing other tables including the table beside us at a snails pace. One item at a time.
Another girl appeared and removed our plates from the starter. On to the main, my wife ordered Beef and I ordered a burger. At this point I will admit I was annoyed, the food was left with a Thank you and enjoy. This girl was very nice, the main was ok, as stated I received the burger.
There was no salt or pepper on the table, no sauces, no vinegar. The chips I received were pre salted. The burger itself was dry, no sauce on it or the bun. At the price point of the food all I am able to say say is, poor. My wife's dinner however did look good, and she said it tasted good.
When finished there was another ((cat and mouse period)), so
